Evansville Dodges Ice

Evansville Dodges Ice

As is my practice with winter storms, I awoke an hour early to get that extra time for my commute.  Just like Friday last week, I got to work too early.

At first glance, there is a nice layer of snow on the ground.  It does crunch under foot.  That crunch is packed snow; there is no ice underneath.

The twin bridges over the Ohio River are wet, but clear; still, I would take caution and slow down. Since they are wet, a sudden temperature drop, along with wind chill, could coat the entire span in black ice.

  1. I can’t remember the last time we had properly cold weather in a Scottish city. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing…

  2. Today was supposed to be the coldest day of the year. The low will be around 5 degrees, winds 5-10 mph, so it will feel like -13 or so. brrrr…

  3. Sounds pretty warm to me :)

  4. I don’t mind the cold, but the REALLY COLD is no fun at all.
