Evansville Area Hit by One Two Punch

Evansville Area Hit by One Two Punch

Late yesterday afternoon, the entire tri-state area was covered by sever thunderstorms along with tornado watches and some tornado warnings.  Into the early evening, south Gibson county along with north Vanderburgh county was hit the hardest.  Reports were coming in that trees were down in the Fort Branch area along with power outages and Highway 41 being reduced to one lane of traffic.

This morning as I crawled up Highway 41, south Fort Branch was still without power.  Both stop lights are not working, even though north Fort Branch had power, namely the VFW Hall and north from there.  Beyond a few bent signs, there was no trace of damage, atleast in the dark.

  1. Hopefully everyone’s home escaped destruction.

  2. Actually, now that you mention it, I am having to do a follow up.

  3. Tornadoes & thunderstorms sound too scary. Please do update us on the possible damages done to the homes of the local residents.

  4. I know this is not funny but yet I must say the picture made me laugh. I pray for all and wish the best.

  5. With everything that happened last week and this week, sometimes humor, or atleast the attempt, does alot. Last week I don’t believe there were any deaths, but I’ve read that several people in other states (Arkansas and Kentucky for sure) lost their lives. Our little area got battered, but nothing like what those poor people went through.
